Clans

The Clans are the primary focus of The Gathering 2009. Without the efforts of clan associations and Scottish Society members throughout the world the whole clan system and the legacy of Scotland’s heritage and culture would perhaps cease to exist.

Today, there are over 500 clan and family associations registered around the world, who gather regularly to celebrate their Scottish heritage. To all these clan members, the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs extends its warmest welcome and looks forward to meeting you all at The Gathering.

It is hoped that representatives from all clans will be in attendance, whilst many clans will have presence at the clan village in Holyrood Park.  To find out which clans are coming and to book a clan tent please see the menu items on the left.
