Apply for a Clan Tent

Your Scottish Clan/Society is invited to apply to join The Gathering 2009 in Holyrood Park on the 25th and 26th July 2009. This is a 'signature' event of the year of Homecoming Scotland, and will be the largest international clan gathering ever held in Scotland. 

Application Guidelines 

In accepting applications we are guided by the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs; The Court of The Lord Lyon and the publication "Scottish Clan & Family Encyclopedia" by George Way of Plean & Romilly Squire. Furthermore, we wish to advise you that preference will be given to entities that are recognized by their Clan Chief &/or National President.

N.B Please note that when we refer to clans we take in families, Scottish societies and other Scottish related organisations so please do not feel left out when we refer to 'clans'.

We would love to have representation from all Scottish organisations and we will aim to cater for as many as possible, but there will be a limit to the number of tents available so please be aware that your application does not guarantee a space on the day.

It is extremely important that you indicate the size of tent needed.  We appreciate that each clan or organisation will have different requirements, we also appreciate that clans have limited funds, and therefore, we have subsidised the tents as much as possible.

Please note there will only be one tent/space per clan or organisation therefore we ask that you co-ordinate with your branches or organisations around the world before submitting your form.

What is included in my application?

Each clan or family tent comes with 1 table and 4 chairs, more are available to hire and requests will be addressed when invoices for tents are issued. Each tent will also receive 2 staff passes to the Highland Games. These passes are specifically for members of the clan organisation who are responsible for dressing and manning the clan tent and who require access to the site out with normal opening hours
