The Anthony Nolan Trust
The Gathering 2009 is proud to announce the Anthony Nolan Trust as our official charity.
The Anthony Nolan Trust, which provides lifesaving donors to leukemia sufferers, will work closely with The Gathering 2009 to take advantage of the thousands of Scots travelling to the event to expand the Anthony Nolan Trust’s national bone marrow register.
The DNA profiling needed to match donors to patients is a perfect match for The Gathering 2009, where thousands of those attending the event share a common ancestry, and possibly a genetic link. This will give the Anthony Nolan Trust an ideal opportunity to recruit bone marrow donors who could one day help save the life of a distant kinsman.
As well as establishing a Donor Recruitment Awareness Exhibition at the event next July, The Anthony Nolan Trust will host a sponsored fun run to raise awareness of the charity and enlist potential new donors.
