The Gathering 2009 would like to wish you all a happy St Andrews Day!
Winter has very much taken hold of Edinburgh now. With the sun setting at 3:45pm and the temperature dropping dramatically we're all wrapping up warm in our winter woollies.  This is of no worry to Lord Sempill, however, who is currently basking in the Australian sunshine as he performs his duties as guest of honour at Sydney Scottish Week!

Clan Tents

  
Clan tents are an integral part of any Highland Games, providing an information point for those interested in joining an organisation as well as being a place for clan members to meet up and socialise.

Clan societies, families, Scottish societies and other Scottish related organizations are all welcome to apply for a clan tent.  Application forms can be downloaded from the clan tent page on our website. Please note that registration does not guarantee a tent.

Travel & Accommodation

Well, many of you seem to be ahead of the game!  Cashel Travel has sold out their allocation at two hotels in Edinburgh so far and more hotels are filling up fast.  All six travel providers listed on our site have been taking regular enquiries about the event and will be more than happy to help with any enquiries you have. We are also progressing well with the idea of a ‘Gathering Cruise’ from North America to Edinburgh and will be able to give you more details in the New Year. News of the possible cruise was featured this week in the Scotsman newspaper.  See our press page for the full article.
