Calling All Budding Film Stars!
Thank you very much to everyone who has kindly sent us a message of support. We have been so touched when reading your thoughts, that we thought we'd really love to hear what you have to say too.
So, what we would like you to do is send us a video clip, telling us who you are, how far you are travelling to The Gathering 2009 and why you are making the trip.
Every budding film star who sends in a film will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a voucher worth £100, courtesy of Hebridean Jewellery. A second prize of a £75 voucher and third prize worth £50 will go to the second and third names pulled out of the hat. The vouchers can be redeemed against online purchases only at www.hebrideanjewellery.co.uk . Unfortunately we can only accept video clips for entry into the prize draw.
If you have a camcorder, a webcam, a cell phone with a camera, or something more advanced, then why not film yourself at home and send us the clip. We will select a variety to put in a promotional film and on our website.
We just want to know the following:
- Your name, where you come from and how far you're travelling for The Gathering in Edinburgh 2009 (you can work this out using a online tool such as www.mapcrow.info ).
- Your clan affiliation, if you have one, or your personal link to Scotland.
- Your top three favourite things about Scotland - in any order you want!
- Why you're coming to The Gathering 2009
If possible, we'd like to see just your head and shoulders in shot, but please feel free to be as creative or as adventurous as you want! We would like you to incorporate the questions somewhere in your answer. For example:
I'm Kathleen Smith from Nova Scotia in Canada and I'm travelling 2682 miles for The Gathering 2009,
I'm from Clan McDonald
My favourite things about Scotland are the history, the whisky (in small amounts!), and most importantly the people, because of the warm welcome I got when I visited relatives in 1984.
I am coming to The Gathering 2009 because I cannot miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to meet with so many different people who may live around the world, but who have all, at some point, come from the same country. It is also just a great excuse for a big party!
We regret that we will not be able to return any discs or tapes. The Gathering 2009 reserves the right to use all submitted clips in all promotional materials and company publications. Winners will be notified in July and published in the newsletter.
Our thanks to Hebridean Jewellery for generously providing the prizes. They are manufacturers of sterling silver and gold jewellery from the Pictish and Celtic periods through to the new millennium range.
Their team of craftsmen has been making jewellery on the Isle of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides since 1974, from neck torcs through to brooches and delicate earrings inset with various gemstones. They also make Celtic wedding band rings, gold pendants and bracelets.
